Micro Diaphragm Pumps

KNF micro pumps are used all over the world to transfer gases and create vacuum. Developed and designed in Switzerland and manufactured in Switzerland and the USA, they combine the highest reliability, outstanding quality, and the latest technological innovations. Standard miniature diaphragm pumps achieve flow rates from 0.33 to 16 l/min, pressure up to 5.5 bar relative and vacuum down to 50 mbar abs. Customized solutions can exceed these flow, pressure and vacuum values. Transferred media include wet or dry air and a wide variety of gases, including corrosive, explosive, valuable and environmentally hazardous gases. Versatility and the technology leadership of KNF allow these micro pumps to be used in a variety of applications.

Customized Solutions for Demanding Applications

Like all KNF pumps, micro pumps can be customized to meet specific application requirements. Potential customizations include the pump material, electrical and pneumatic connections, installation options and various motor options. Based on a modular system, pump customization is fast and reliable using proven and tested parts. In this way, customers receive customized solutions reliably and quickly, even from batch size one. Accessories such as dampers, silencers or filters are available to further customize miniature diaphragm pumps.

Many Areas of Application Covered

KNF micro diaphragm pumps are used in many industries around the world. For example, they are used in the medical industry for critical applications like anesthesia monitoring and wound management. In environmental analysis and analytical instruments, they cleanly and reliably transfer samples to analysis units, and in printing technology they are used for purging and ink control via vacuum. Micro diaphragm pumps are also used in the food industry, for example in coffee machines to create milk foam, and in the civil security sector to detect drugs and explosives.

For Higher Pressures: Micro Swing Piston Pumps

In addition to miniature diaphragm pumps, KNF also manufactures miniature swing piston pumps. In these pumps, a piston moves up and down in a cylinder, compressing the medium. Unlike in a piston pump where the piston reciprocates in a linear motion, a swing piston pump is equipped with a flexible seal that slides along the cylinder and allows a swinging motion. This allows for a much longer stroke compared to diaphragm pumps, generating higher pressures. Due to the moving seal, swing piston pumps are not as gas tight as diaphragm pumps.
