KNF Digital Acceleration Center
Digital progress is moving at a breakneck pace, leaving companies racing to keep up – or better yet stay one step ahead, so that they are not steamrolled by new advances. With the launch of the KNF Digital Acceleration Center (DAC) on August 24, 2018, KNF rockets into the digitalization era. It’s no accident that acceleration is part of the center’s name. The DAC is tasked with developing digital strategies and innovations to strengthen and advance the KNF Group and to accelerate KNF’s digital transformation.
The DAC is part of the digital strategy KNF is using to position itself for the future as a sustainable, innovative and universal company. By taking the lead on digitalization issues, the DAC promotes a culture of innovation and also boosts KNF’s stature.
Founded as a KNF Future Lab, the DAC is intentionally located within a young and progressive start-up culture environment. The city of Hamburg is the epitome of cosmopolitanism, and the diverse make-up of the modern coworking space that the team calls home fosters networking, exchange, collaboration and mutual inspiration. The creative professionals and freelancers as well as other established companies that work here also generate an open and creative environment where synergies flourish. “The DAC provides us with the new resources needed to realize our digital projects,” says Reto Furrer, CMO of the KNF Group. “The DAC identifies and utilizes synergy effects in cross-location projects and will help translate the emerging forms of digital cooperation within the Group and with customers into a new corporate culture.”
What does KNF expect from its Future Lab? Nothing less than fundamental change in the company’s culture, encompassing all processes, departments, employees, leadership and of course the products and their sales and marketing. The DAC is also designed to spread the philosophy of networking, and opening up both inwards and outwards – not just in theory but in practice. A shared knowledge management system and innovative online marking concepts are to be developed at the DAC and incorporated into the Group’s long-term strategy. The goal is to achieve innovative and effective developments that improve the speed and visibility of customer-focused processes and the efficiency of internal workflows. By creating a modern and flexible working environment, the DAC also aims to increase the appeal of KNF as an employer, so that the company can continue to successfully recruit young and inventive new talent.
