Erich Becker Sponsorship Award Goes to Industrial Mechanic
KNF honors best apprentice.
Every November, the Southern Upper Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Südlicher Oberrhein, Germany) awards the Erich Becker Sponsorship Award, which was created by KNF in 2021.
In memory of the senior company owner Erich Becker, the award honours apprentices who complete their training with an “excellent” grade, demonstrating qualities that also characterised Erich Becker: persistence, optimism and a firm belief in success.
Optimistic about the future
This year, the award went to Angelina Baader from Löffingen. After completing secondary school and one year at vocational college, she started her apprenticeship to become an industrial mechanic in September 2020 with Franz Morat Group GmbH in Eisenbach. She completed her apprenticeship in July 2023 with “excellent” results. Anglina Baader remains with the company, where she is now employed as a skilled worker.
But that’s not enough: She will be investing the 2,500 euros prize money into training to become an industrial technician. The next step on her career ladder is scheduled for September 2024.
And she has even more far-reaching plans: She would like to visit the company’s site in Poland for some time to get familiar with the processes there. In the long-term, she would like to be a Department Manager and manage the training of new skilled workers.
Perseverance and determination
November 30 was the big day: At the Southern Upper Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Südlicher Oberrhein) award ceremony, KNF Holding AG Member of the Supervisory Board, Paul Becker, presented the award on behalf of KNF’s owner family, honoring the dedication of the young industrial mechanic in reference to Becker’s virtues.
The Erich Becker Sponsorship Award provides motivation for all young apprentices to find their own path, and to follow it with dedication and perseverance.
