Erich Becker Sponsorship Award 2024
The Southern Upper Rhine Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) honors outstanding apprenticeship achievements with the Erich Becker Award.
This year's award went to Alexander Müller from Freiburg, Germany, who completed his apprenticeship at Stryker Leibinger GmbH with exceptional results. After successfully graduating from intermediate secondary school and completing his apprenticeship from September 2021 to July 2024, he now works as a skilled technician specializing in machining and additive manufacturing technologies.
Recognition of Excellence
The award ceremony took place on November 21st at Europa Park's Hotel Colosseo during a festive evening with a three-course dinner and live musical entertainment. This year, the award was presented on behalf of the Becker family by Johannes Weber, CFO of KNF Neuberger GmbH in Freiburg. It recognizes the recipient's commitment to the values that characterized the legacy of Erich Becker, the pioneer of diaphragm pump technology and longtime visionary owner of the KNF Group. Since 24 years, the KNF Group has been in the capable hands of his eldest son, Martin Becker, who is continuing the success story.
Investment in Future Development
The €2,500 sponsorship award supports the professional development of promising young talent. Alexander Müller plans to use the prize money to further his education as a technician, with studies scheduled to begin in October 2025.
Never give up, recognize opportunities and seize them is the motto of the annual Erich Becker Award. It was established in 2021 – the 90th birthday of Erich Becker – to commemorate the qualities of perseverance, self-confidence and an unwavering belief in success. The award specifically recognizes apprentices who have excelled both in school and on the job.
