Putting the Hydrogen Economy and Fossil-Free Production in the Spotlight
KNF at ACHEMA 2022
From August 22–26, 2022, Messe Frankfurt will be welcoming process manufacturing experts and users to ACHEMA. Trade show visitors will be able to experience KNF’s new ex-proof pump, N 680.1.2, for the first time at booth E85 in hall 11.1. As a leading manufacturer of diaphragm pumps, the company will also address the topics of hydrogen and CO2-free production in its other exhibits.
ACHEMA is the leading international trade show for the process manufacturing industry. Digitalization, oil-free processes, the hydrogen production value chain including hydrogen storage and use are some of the topical issues that will be explored during ACHEMA 2022’s Theme Days.
New diaphragm pump for the recovery of gases and protection against emissions under ATEX conditions
Process manufacturing uses gases in a variety of ways. The use of flammable gases and processing in explosive atmospheres requires the ATEX Directives to be taken into account. With its new N 680.1.2 ex-proof pump, KNF has expanded its product range that meets this requirement.
This chemically resistant pump is ideally suited for use in the recovery of gases. Thanks to its reliability and low-maintenance operation, the oil-free pump is also the pump of choice for applications in stationary systems for emission protection. A flow rate of 220 l/min and an ultimate vacuum of 150 mbar abs make for a high-performance ex-proof pump for important tasks in process manufacturing.
KNF diaphragm pumps for the hydrogen economy
With the publication of both national and Europe-wide hydrogen strategies, important cornerstones have been set for the development of the hydrogen economy. Globally, many of these strategies are united in their goal of decarbonizing the industry. Projects around the world are working to develop and shape the value chain. Specifically, this means the stages of hydrogen production, distribution and use as well as the accompanying research, of course.
With its global presence, KNF has been a valued and trusted partner for many years in a multitude of hydrogen-related solutions, such as in the use of fuel cells as a drive solution for forklift trucks and heavy goods vehicles. The momentum driving the expansion of steam reformer capacities and electrolysis is making KNF’s gas and liquid pumps sought-after components also in this context. The reliability and robustness of the pumps when interacting with biogas, hydrogen and methanol are crucial. The way the pump solutions work is ideal for dosing, re-circulating and conveying between tanks to support the fault-free functioning of fuel cells. The most common application of KNF diaphragm pumps when producing stacks is leak-tightness testing.
KNF will be exhibiting a range of tried-and-tested gas and liquid pumps for this broad spectrum of applications in the hydrogen economy at booth E85 in hall 11.1.
