As a specialist in customized pumps, KNF is always in touch with market demand. Compact size and simple installation are invariably at the top of customers’ wish lists, and the world market leader has used its engineering expertise to modify its N 87 Ex diaphragm gas pump accordingly.
Smaller and easier to install — the N 87 Ex diaphragm gas pump now offers even more advantages. KNF’s design engineers overhauled the robust ATEX-compliant pump and were able to visibly reduce its overall height in particular.
In order to streamline the start-up process for the pump, the engineers concentrated on simplifying the design of the cable connection to the terminal box. Replacing the Ex d motor with an Ex de motor has eliminated the need for highly specialized connection cables — the terminal box now offers intrinsic safety without them. The motor is ATEX- and IECEx-compliant. The flow rate remains as high as ever at 7.5 l/min and the ultimate vacuum lies at 140 mbar abs.
With a pump head made of PVDF and a PTFE-coated diaphragm, the N 87 Ex is highly chemically resistant, making it suitable for use in process manufacturing and in the chemical industry. The valves are made of FFPM. Thanks to its durable construction and its excellent value for money, the N 87 Ex is also ideally suited for use in emission measurement technology.
