Fluid Aspiration & Aspirator Pumps

Fluid aspiration is commonly used to remove and collect liquids. The typical aspiration device consists of a liquid container, tubing, a collection bottle, and a vacuum pump.

Often a filter is placed at the inlet side of the pump to prevent liquid from being sucked in, while a footswitch controls power to the pump. The principle behind this process is simple: a vacuum pump creates a pressure differential in the collection bottle, causing the liquid to flow from its source into the bottle.

Considerations for selecting the optimal pump include:

  • Oil-free operation with excellent chemical compatibility
  • Adjustable control of vacuum levels
  • Flow and vacuum levels appropriate for the application
