First ever Erich Becker Sponsorship Award

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Southern Upper Rhine (IHK Südlicher Oberrhein, Germany) will be presenting the first Erich Becker Sponsorship Award in November 2022. The award stands for the dynamism, innovation and passion which are the characteristics that helped the engineer Erich Becker to shape and advance the KNF Group.
Diaphragm pump pioneer lends name to award
Never give up, recognize opportunities and seize them: This is Erich Becker’s motto. The pioneer of diaphragm pump technology and the brain behind KNF’s products has now had an award named after him. The purpose of the annual Erich Becker Sponsorship Award is to honor the best performance amongst apprentices by the IHK Südlicher Oberrhein.
Honoring special achievements during apprenticeship
The award winners will be honored for qualities displayed during their apprenticeship both at school and on the job, the same qualities that helped Erich Becker turn KNF into a global market leader: Persistence, a strong belief in success and optimism. These are the traits with which Erich Becker determined the company’s history. Since 2000, the KNF Group has been in the capable hands of his eldest son, Martin, who continues its success story.
Patrick Lohrbach (apprenticeship placement at AUMA Riester GmbH & Co. KG) is the first apprentice to be honored with the Erich Becker Sponsorship Award. The award was presented by Paul Becker, member of the Administrative Board of KNF Holding AG, on behalf of the Becker family on November 11. The award comes with an endowment of 2,500 euros.

The Erich Becker Sponsorship Award keeps alive the spirit and the drive impersonated by its inventor. It is intended to motivate apprentices to continue on their path with determination.
