KNF at Formnext, the worldwide leading exhibition for additive manufacturing
Formnext is considered to be a worldwide leading exhibition in additive manufacturing. As a manufacturer of customized pump solutions, KNF will be using this platform to present its latest products for supporting seamless print head functionality.
At the exhibition, KNF will be introducing the new FP 150 from its diaphragm liquid pump product line. This pump transfers the binder to the print head with a flow rate of up to 1.5 l/min. Very low pulsation across the entire motor speed range as well as a chemically resistant design thanks to materials such as EPDM, PTFE or even FFKM mean it can be used in a variety of situations. The pump also meets the standard of protection class IP65.
The N 96 diaphragm vacuum pump boasts outstanding performance in the fixation of 3D-printed parts to construction support surfaces, for example vacuum tables and panels. With a vacuum reaching below 100 mbar absolute, the pump ensures reliable and even suction across the entire support surface, thus guaranteeing that workpieces remain friction-locked to the table.
The NMP 850 HP micro gas transfer pump is available with one or two heads. It is maintenance-free, with a 200 mbar absolute ultimate vacuum and an operating pressure of 2.5 bar relative. The single-headed version of the NMP 850 HP is useful for print head cleaning and purging as well as for generating a vacuum to create the meniscus effect at the print head. The double-headed version is an ideal vacuum pump for degassing. The pump head is made of resistant PPS, the seals of highly chemically resistant FFKM, FKM or EPDM, and the diaphragm of FKM, PTFE or EPDM. The speed-controlled motors allow for the adjustment of the performance parameters.
For extra durability, the diaphragm pumps are equipped with digital brushless DC motors. As a result of in-house development as well as exclusive collaboration with a leading motor manufacturer, the pumps’ motors are perfectly attuned to the pumps themselves and are absolutely one-of-a-kind in their parameterizing abilities. KNF brushless motors exhibit complex operating profiles with comprehensive safety equipment, winning customers over with their energy efficiency, precise management of target values and easy control.
Thanks to the KNF modular system, all pumps can be adapted to customer-specific needs. The modular series models are durable, chemically resistant, suited to a multitude of media and low-maintenance.
